Introducing Auricus Voice

Why we built an on-prem voice intelligence platform that fits in a single purpose-built appliance — and what it means for operators tired of paying the cloud STT tax.

Cloud speech-to-text APIs solved a real problem ten years ago: a fast way to add transcription to a product without standing up your own model serving. They’re still useful — and they’re also, at any meaningful audio volume, a tax that compounds.

We built Auricus Voice for the operators on the other side of that compounding curve: contact centers, regulated industries, telcos, and government deployments where the bill, the latency, and the data path all become real constraints.

What we shipped

A single purpose-built rack-mount appliance that ships the entire voice intelligence platform inside.

  • Live and near–real-time windowed streaming for contact centers, supervision, and compliance workflows.
  • Batch at scale — sustained ~100 files/min end-to-end on the densest configuration.
  • ~99 transcription languages and 107 automatic language-ID classes.
  • REST + async integration with poll or webhook delivery.
  • Prometheus + Grafana observability, structured audit logs, exportable SLO tracking.

Why “on-prem” and not “private cloud”

We’re explicit about this distinction because it matters for compliance and economics both.

  • Compliance. When the inference pipeline makes no outbound calls to external APIs, third-country exposure isn’t a risk to mitigate — it’s structurally impossible.
  • Economics. A capital line item amortised across years of audio is a different shape than a per-minute meter. Up to ~93% lower at the matched cloud STT tier across the family, by our analysis.
  • Operational. Latency is bounded by your rack, not by a shared cloud region.
